Roxy in Miramar, Harking back to the 1930s (as some of my friends knew my favorite period was 1930s). I was happy when I visited them. About Roxy, it have a history left behind. Since it called " The CAPITOL Theatre" was purpose built in 1928 to screen silent film. The cinema operated throughout the 30s through to the early 60s, with the last film being screened in 1964. The building was then converted to the CAPITOL Court, a shopping mall etc. In April 2011, the cinema was reopened, now have two luxurious state-of-the-art cinema screens, a 60 seat restaurant with stunning interior features created by the extraordinary team at Weta Workshop which founder Tania Rodger and Richard Taylor, Oscar-winning editor Jamie Selkirk and wife Ann, film lover Jo-Anne Lundon and technical advisor. Working to bring the movies back to Miramar for the enjoyment of locals and visitors to Wellington alike.
"Coco at the Roxy" offers cocktails and jazz, espresso and gateaux, tasting plates and wine, or a gourmet burger and fries.
You can bring your wine, even meal to the cinema. Woa! this is called "Quality of Life".
At this time I visited, "The advantage of Tintin" was showing. Love this dog!
"The Lord of the Rings" character - Hobbit.
